I was able to insert my own cursor, make it so the custom cursor showed at the start but went to the mouse after scrolling over a button, and starting with the mouse until you scroll over the button then switching to the custom cursor.

The Preloader and Status Bar were a little difficult to get working at first, but once we got the code in the correct places it was pretty simple. It was a good lesson to have, because I will need it to put in our game.

One place I went to get additional help is ActionScript.org. It gives different ways to do animations and movements in your game. I've learned many useful things that will help to progress our game.

Weekly Blog Post 1/6/11

 The Collision Detection was a new learning experience. It will be a great thing to know how to do in our games, making it easier to add more interesting features.

-Yes, the Collision Detection tutorial was very useful.
-I will most likely use these features on the wiki to make it more interesting.
-Yes, I loved the Fly Catcher game.
-If we use that concept we would be able to, but I don't think our game requires it.

 I plan to use sound in my game to increase the interest on my game. It will keep players more interested and increase the quality. With sound, players will experience a whole new game. It will put them in the mood to play and keep them from quitting early.

Our game, Joe the Plumber, can't be both a Stem and Civics Game. It is educational but does not teach about citizenship.


5 Game Ideas:
1. You are a citizen of the US presented with a problem and you must find the best way to solve this problem.
2. A foreigner trying to get their green card.
3.A police officer that goes and explains to people what the correct things to do are.
4. A questionnaire on the rights of citizens (Bill of Rights)
5. You are the jury in a court case and must present a satisfactory punishment or give innocence to the person being prosecuted.

Yes, i like working in flash. It has been challenging but fun at the sametime. I have learned a lot so far and it has been very beneficial.
